On Feb. 10 the Rose Bowl held its monthly flea market in Pasadena, which featured over 2,500 unique vendors and 20,000 visitors.

The Rose Bowl Flea Market has celebrated 50 years of continued success and built its reputation for being one of the most famous markets in the world. Along with the Rose Bowl Flea Market, the Beaumont Flea Market, San Bernardino Market, and Ventura Market are all coordinated by R.G. Canning Attractions.

Every second Sunday of the month features many different vendors, and the Rose Bowl organizes them by categories such as “New Merchandise,” “Arts and Crafts,” and “Antique and Collectibles.”

“I started about two years ago selling my clothes and it grew into this small boutique, Simple Threads,” April Diaz, a regular vendor, stated. “Now I am here every month, and it’s something that I will never give up.”

With a variety of vendors, the market wraps around the Rose Bowl Stadium and also fills up two entire parking lots.

“There are also so many different vendors here. There are so many of us,” said Diaz. “I love flea markets because no matter how many people sell clothes, everyone is very different and everyone has their distinctive style.”

Along with the variety of vendors, the Rose Bowl Flea Market offers many food choices such as hamburgers, barbeque, sushi, boba, and Auntie Anne’s pretzels. Prices are in the $1.50 to $9 range, and the Rose Bowl Flea Market special is a hot dog and a drink for $3.

Tickets for the Rose Bowl Flea market are sold online and also at the door. A special preview VIP admission from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. is $20 per person, early bird admission from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. is $15, express admission from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. is $12, and general admission, beginning at 9 a.m. is $9. Children under 12 enter free. Visitors can still buy tickets until 3 p.m., after which sellers begin packing up and leaving.

Senior Bethany Lee stated, “I go usually every other month but this was my first time going super early, and I feel like going earlier is so much more worth it because there is less people and better finds.”

In addition, there is tons of free parking along with an optional prefered parking close to the entrance which costs $15.

Visitors can also acquire special group rates and are able to get VIP service and discounts by emailing R.G Canning Attractions to make a reservation.

The next Rose Bowl Flea Market will be on March 10.
