On Feb. 2, the varsity wrestling team will face off against Mountain View High School for League Finals Individual at 3:15 p.m.

The girls spent last Saturday, at Montclair High School for the Girls Montclair Tournament, for their last tournament of the season before heading to CIF. The varsity boys wrestled at the CIF team duals on the same day (location tbd).

The wrestling teams took on Mountain View on Jan. 22 at MVHS and won/lost, __-__.

The varsity boys went up against multiple teams at the Montclair Individual Tournament on Jan. 19 at MHS.

Both the boys and girls wrestled against El Monte High School in their last home dual of the season on Jan. 17. The wrestling team won, 1-0, while celebrating Senior Night.

“Even though this is our second-to-last dual, our season isn’t close to being done” stated girls team captain, Cassidy Do, senior. “For varsity and for the girls, we still have room to improve and CIF to look forward to.”

On Jan. 10, at Gabrielino High School, the varsity wrestling teams beat Rosemead High School in a Mission Valley League Dual, 1-0.

“It doesn’t matter if it’s a dual or a tournament, we go in as a team and give it all we have” stated sophomore Joshua Hu. “This Rosemead dual wasn’t different, we worked hard for that win and I’m proud of all of the wrestlers.”

Boys varsity had three people who placed at the John Glenn Tournament on Jan. 4 hosted at Glenn High School including junior Donovan Sanin, second place, senior Theodore Hanna, fourth place, and freshman Logan Tan, fourth place. The same weekend, at San Dimas High School, the girls wrestled at the Girls San Dimas Tournament and had two people who placed including Do, third place, and sophomore Angelina Diaz, sixth place.

“It’s been a long season but when different schools come down we get to meet new people which is always fun,” stated Hanna. “We have been working hard as a team and I know that it’s going to pay off.”

At the Girls Corona Tournament on Dec. 28 at The Rinks Corona Inline, Do placed third and Diaz placed seventh.

On Dec. 21, the varsity boys traveled to the West Coast Classic Tournament where Sanin came in third place.

In the dual against Arroyo High School on Dec. 19, the Eagles were dealt a loss, 0-1.
