Infinitely inspire.
In the event Original Oratory (OO), speakers are given ten minutes to perform a persuasive speech they have written pertaining to societal issues in the community or world that they believe needs change. Speakers are encouraged to pick topics that they are passionate about because it makes their performance more engaging and convincing.
“What makes OO unique is that it is the only event where you’re actually asking the audience to change something about themselves or things around them,” stated junior Jaden Raymundo.
This year, there are 35 students participating in the event and one of which qualified for the National Speech & Debate Association national tournament.
“OO teaches people the power that their words have on others and inspire people to be better,” said sophomore Lauren Hamamoto.
