The results reflected all of their hard work as the Gabrielino boys varsity swim team celebrated multiple wins and ended their season 5-1.
The boys won four individual events and two relay team events. Senior Elton Chan, co-team captain, came in first place for the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle. Sophomore Andrew Ngo came in first place in the 200 individual medley and 100 breaststroke. In addition, Gabrielino closed out and placed first in the 200 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay with senior Chan, sophomores Joshua Hu and Ngo, and freshman Jason Kong.
“This was one of the strongest years in Gabrielino history in terms of performance and morale,” stated Chan. “The boys team had a strong season and this year’s team has the strongest camaraderie the coaches have ever seen.”
