Today, the Gabrielino High School (GHS) girls volleyball team will compete against Mountain View High School (MVHS) at 3:15 p.m. in an away game.
The Lady Eagles know what they are up against with the Vikings, since all of the matches against in the past five years against MVHS have always resulted in an eagle victory, 3-0.
On Sept. 28, the Lady Eagles had a game against El Monte High School (EMHS). GHS beat EMHS, 3-0.
On Sept. 23, the girls varsity team played against South El Monte High School (SEMHS). GHS defeated South El Monte, 3-0.
On Sept. 21, GHS hosted a game against Arroyo High School. The Lady Eagles won all three sets, 25-4, 25-8, 25-17, respectively.
On Sept. 16, the Lady Eagles showed their dominance when they beat Marshall Fundamental High School by blowing them out in all three sets, 25-7, 25-11, and 25-8, respectively.
On Sept. 14, the girls varsity team attended an away game at Rosemead High School. The Lady Eagles won all of their sets, 25-9, overwhelming the Panthers, 3-0.
On Sept. 10, the Lady Eagles attended the Garey Tri-City tournament Gold Division Final, where the team was able to defeat Don Lugo High School, 3-1, and Diamond Ranch High School, 3-0.
“We defended our crown as the Garey Tri-City tournament champion for the last two years out of 16 teams, we are now three time champions.” stated Coach Cuong Chau.
On Sept. 7, GHS hosted a varsity volleyball tournament, and was able to overcome Bishop Conaty-Loretto High School, 2-0, beat Eastside High School, 2-0, and defeat Edgewood High School, 2-0.
On Sept. 5, the girls varsity team attended a tournament in which they lost to Burroughs High School, 0-3, and to Esperanza High School, 0-3.
On Sept. 3, the Lady Eagles went to a tournament, and they were able to defeat Canyon High School, 3-0, but lost against Woodrow Wilson High School, 0-3.
On Sept.1, the Lady Eagles thoroughly beat Warren High School in their own house, 3-0.
On Aug. 30, GHS competed against Glendale High School with no troubles, winning all of their sets, 3-0 each.
On Aug. 26, the girls varsity team took the first game, smashing Rio Hondo Preparatory school into the court, 3-0.
