Baseball:
The Gabrielino baseball team’s season was not ideal. Finishing with a league record of 3-8-1, placing sixth in the league, and an overall record of 5-11-1, the Eagles baseball team displayed grit throughout their games despite the challenges.
Football:
Coming off a disheartening season last year, the Gabrielino football team experienced more wins this year. With new coaches, there was a buzzing anticipation in the air as to what the football season would bring. The Gabrielino football team put in the work and was able to bring home two league wins and four overall wins. Their final league record was 2-3, placing them fourth in the Mission Valley League, and their overall record was 4-6.
Softball:
With a final record of 3-9, earning sixth in league standings, and an overall record of 4-15, the softball team was successful this year.

Track and field had an extremely positive and entertaining season. With broken records, league wins, and CIF qualifiers. Boys’ track and field won the Mission Valley League, while girls took second.
Boys volleyball:
With a final league record of 7-1, securing second place in league, and an overall record of 15-2, the Gabrielino boys volleyball team flew high this season.

Earning the 22nd consecutive Mission Valley League win, the girls’ volleyball team continued to maintain its championship.
Wrestling:
The wrestling team once again showcased its strength, with strong performances throughout the season and notable individual achievements.
Beyond the numbers, athletic director Edith Gonzalez expressed hope that the events impacted student-athletes positively, emphasizing the idea of building on successes and setting new benchmarks. She believes these achievements inspire student-athletes to strive for higher levels, potentially even State titles, in the coming years.
One of the most impressive aspects noted by athletic director Andres Diosdado was the exemplary behavior and respectfulness of Gabrielino High School athletes. Diosdado observed that compared to visiting teams, Gabrielino High School students demonstrate greater respect for facilities and adherence to rules, consistently cleaning up after themselves and respecting campus boundaries.
Looking ahead, Gabrielino High School will no longer be part of the Mission Valley League starting in 2026. A recent re-league vote among schools in the area resulted in the creation of four new conferences, pulling Gabrielino High School into a new, unnamed conference. This move marks the end of a 25-year association with the Mission Valley League and will require the development of new rivalries and connections with different schools in the coming years.
