Gabrielino High School’s ASB elections for the 2025–2026 school year concluded earlier this month, ushering in a new lineup of class presidents ready to lead with energy, creativity and school pride.
Freshman Bella Camacho, elected as next year’s sophomore class president, said she is excited to hit the ground running. Drawing from her leadership experience at Jefferson Middle School’s ASB, Camacho is eager to take what she has learned and turn it into action.
“I ran for this position because I have a passion for ASB,” Camacho said. “I was in it at Jefferson, and this year I saw how class officers helped plan events. That made me want to plan one too.”
For Camacho, the thrill of ASB lies in the behind-the-scenes work that brings the campus together.
“One highlight of being in ASB was organizing school events like lunch activities, rallies, and dances,” Camacho said. “At Jefferson, those events were always fun, and I liked being a part of creating that experience.”
Sophomore Chloe Tan, chosen as junior class president, said she is focused on creating a supportive, welcoming environment through leadership.
“I want people to see me as someone who’s inspiring, easy to talk to, and able to communicate well with others—someone friendly and approachable,” Tan said.
With senior events on the horizon, Tan is already brainstorming ideas with his fellow vice president Daniel Nagata, junior. “We’ve got homecoming and other big stuff coming up,” he said. “My goal is to make senior year something people actually look forward to—something fun, not just stressful.”
Nagata said stepping into leadership is a way to give back to a school that embraced him.
“Since I transferred to Gabrielino this year, I felt really welcomed by the school community. Running for ASB was my way of giving back and showing appreciation for everything the school has given me” Nagata explained.
Nagata also hopes to use social media as a bridge between ASB and the student body.
“I plan on using my social media platform to connect with as many students as possible and encourage more involvement,” he said. “My vision is to help make senior year enjoyable for everyone, no matter what the activity is.”
With fresh ideas, dedication and passion already on display, the incoming class officers are preparing for a school year fueled by spirit, unity and student-driven change.
