FIRST GENERATION Transition teacher Maria Cruz helps a student engage with a word search activity during lunch on Nov. 8. The activity was part of the First Generation Celebration, which highlighted students who are the first in their families to go to college. Embedded Time students also watched a recorded panel discussion of Gabrielino teachers who are first generation college graduates. Seniors Gabriel Sundaramoorthy and Joselyn Galicia led a panel discussion with psychologist Chere’l Barrett, counselors Jacqueline Borja and Jocelyn Machada, and chemistry teacher Chanda Strom.
