By Violet Wang | Staff Writer
10. Art and social media manager Violet Wang is the worst Tongva Times member, by far. She is way too cool and amazing and nice and humble and cool that she distracts all the other staff members while they are trying to work.
9/8. At number nine are the Jordans: copy editors Jordan Liu and Jordan Hum. According to Jordan, Jordan is “not interesting enough to blurb about while Jordan says that Jordan is “chill.” Jordan adds that Jordan has “good vibes.”
7. Business and advertising manager Teresa Wong wanted to contribute to something bigger than herself, so she faced the intimidation and joined journalism. With this year’s staff being one of the smallest, she is going to contribute a lot. If the staff is reading this, get back to work.
6. Layout artist Nicole Banh was born with a passion for journalism- her first word was “journalism”, her favorite book is a newspaper, and she plans to become a journalist- wait. She joined without knowing we make the Tongva Times. Well… She is already here, and her fate is sealed.
5. Bren Belmonte is not only our photographer but also comes from a, subjectively, long line of journalists. Two. So, to stay unbiased, please associate all articles she writes with legacy and not with the fact that she is organized, routine, and overall excellent.
4. Brian Ly is one of our layout artists. When the layout looks good: they joined because they find journalism interesting, but mostly for the graduation journalism sash. When the layout looks bad: unfortunately, they’re kinda mid, to be honest.
3. As production chief, junior Sophia Pu uses her caring heart and iron fist to make sure that we are all on schedule. With her years of experience and newspaper internship, she knows how to do so very effectively. Very effectively.
2. In the penultimate spot is Benevolent Overlord Kaylee Chan. The almighty, lightbringer in darkness, worldly wordsmith, wager editing extraordinaire, and crossword enthusiast. As the editor in chief, she leads the copy editors in editing articles. Except this one. She definitely didn’t edit this one.
1. And of course, the greatest Tongva Times staff member isn’t a staff member at all,. It’s our wonderful advisor Ms. Drew. As a beacon of genius, commanding the room, she’s the best leader we could have. Please give me an A.
