Gabrielino High School’s student center is home to many great and welcoming staff. Both are known for being friendly faces to see. Those two faces are Gabrielino High School’s attendance clerks, Megan Amen and Ricky Le. The two have run the front desk together since 2023. Although one year isn’t necessarily a long time, they have touched the lives of hundreds of Gabrielino students and gotten along well.
Amen has been an attendance clerk for a handful of schools and has years of experience working in school environments. Jefferson Middle School for several months, and the Disney Company Children’s Center, where she worked for roughly seven years.
“There are moments that are busy, but there are also moments that are a little bit slow, so I feel like that work balance is better,” said Amen when discussing the benefits of working at Gabrielino.
Ricky Le, Gabrielino’s second attendance clerk, has been working the front desk for a year. Although he has not been here as long as Aman, he has made an equally large impact on students.
“Getting to know the students more, just learning more about who they are as people outside of their attendance is really fulfilling to me,” Ricky commented when asked about one of the social benefits of working here at Gabrielino.
The pair keep Gabrielino’s Student Center lively. If students happen to find themselves in the student center during lunch, they will enjoy the warm presence and kindness of Amen and Le. The two have created a warm atmosphere that makes students feel comfortable and supported.
